An auction at Sara's houses
It was a misty morning in the valley south of Walnut Creek as a crowd gathered at the old Troyer homestead.
The attraction as an auction of the belongings of a family that had called this farm home for nearly 200 years. The houses on the property are virtually unchanged in all those years. Sara Troyer, who lived in one of the houses for years and sold cloth from the other, was no longer able to care for the place, which led to the auction.
The crowd was large and mostly her Amish neighbors. Here are some images from the sale on Nov. 20, 2010.
